A request to Coinbase. What do you think?
<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>Hey Coinbase,</p> <p>Many UK customers (I can't speak for any other country) have received emails informing them that the HMRC have requested details on anyone who has cashed out or held more than £5000 pounds in crypto assets. </p> <p>My request is that, like every other institution, you provide an exact downloadable report for the user also of the information sent to HMRC for our own records. A statement if you will. </p> <p>As you are aware, UK citizens (and I suspect other countries) can request any data pertaining to them using the Data Protection Act usually by the means of a subject access request. By having this information ready for all it will reduce the individual claims for information and by extension your work load to process the requests. </p> <p>I also think this is an important step going forward as crypto is still rather new and constantly changing, as are the laws and requirements and some people might struggle to provide what is needed correctly. This may greatly help reduce the risk of committing accidental crime. </p> <p>What do you all think? ideas, suggestions?? lets get this finalised and then noticed by coinbase and try to get an official response.</p> </div><!-- SC_ON --> Kind Regards R
