US synthetic graphics company for battery applications

An anode materials company, PUREgraphite, subsidiary of Novonix(NVNXF), has developed a new process to produce lower cost graphite anode material for lithium-ion batteries in the United States with production plant in Tennessee. Recently, it received US$7 MM from US DOE to support their technology development. Its chief scientific officer is Dr. Jeff Dahn at Dalhousie University in Canada, who has been a consultant to Tesla battery material research.

In late February, in order to expand capacity of PureGraphite, Novonix sold 39.7 MM shares to institution investors for Australian dollar 2.90 per share, and the company directors committed to buy Australian dollar 16.5 MM of shares at the same price (see link below). With current exchange ratio of 1.29, the institutions and the directors are paying US dollar 2.25 to get these shares. I guess ordinary stock holders were worrying about the dilution which caused the knee jerk reaction to sell, with stock price sold down to 2.05. It's obvious that the institutions and directors have confidence on the company's future and willing to pay 2.25 per share to expand the company. It could be a good opportunity to grab this stock at a price significantly less than the institution and directors were paying.

submitted by /u/get_reddit_1
[link] [comments]Kind Regards R
