What Does the Future Hold for Cryptocurrency?

I love the idea of having cryptocurrencies as real currencies (maybe even a nation's currency) but I don't know how. The value of Every coin fluctuates so much and they don't have a stable price. So how can cryptocurrencies become a real currency in the future? What would happen in 50 years?
