Anyone else notice some average people think Crypto is called Bitcoin?

I had someone recently tell me they were investing in the Bitcoin named Ethereum because they heard it was good. I tried to explain it's not Bitcoin, it's crypto currency and they started arguing with me. Then a totally unrelated person asked me how many different Bitcoins I had and I was confused until I realized they meant crypto currencies.

I know Bitcoin is currently the top dog, but I have increasingly noticed people refer to crypto as Bitcoin and it bugs me lol. Is it just the people I encounter?

submitted by /u/bbatardo
[link] [comments]Kind Regards R
