The whole “crypto is for smart people” or “your wallet security depends on you
<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>Ive seen a lot of sentiment basically saying if people make a mistake/get scammed/hacked they’re stupid and deserving of it or crypto is a place where the “smart” survive and the “dumb” suffer. This sort of attitude isn’t great for mass adoption when you think that more than half population isn’t exactly super smart or super dumb, they’re below average to above average with extremes on both ends. Most people will fall into these ranges and being elitist has never helped mass adoption, especially for something that already has a reputation amongst some for being a scam. </p> <p>Peoples crypto needs to be somewhat idiot proofed in terms of security for mass adoption because when you’re starting out, it’s definitely easy to send something to the wrong chain/address/forget to write something down/store things on a cloud/etc. This is why I feel like a certain layer or aspect of centralization will be vital for getting a large amount of people to take the leap to crypto.
