https://crypto.com/product-news/crypto-com-visa-cards-update
Re-posting this here since original post at r/Cryptocom awaits moderator approval for some reason.

I never believed in any companies that spend loads of cash on advertising, especially software/product firms.

I made an exception with CDC (Crypto.com), based on a friends recommendation and seeing the rewards and the community and was excited because CDC was actually doing something which majority of the crypto firms don't, which is to build an utility oriented ecosystem around crypto and make actual products that cater the gap between crypto and the conventional payment methods. I think I already regret it now. I got my Ruby card last week and I'm honestly glad that I didn't go for the Jade green as tempting it was.

As always, I checked the CRO token prices before committing with my stake and definitely the charts were off and different from how the product seemed to be taking off.As a student, Jade red was around a month's rent for me but I always had an idea of supporting an ecosystem, a product that actually makes a difference in the long term but guess how wrong I was. I think I will take it as a pricey lesson and an reinforcement to my earlier statement to not support/get involved with product companies that spend loads on adverting as opposed to building a sustainable and more importantly scalable product that creates value overall for everyone involved.

My stake is for another 180 days but I'm pretty sure it would be almost nothing at the end considering feedback and the current price dump.

I really hope CDC has some definite plans ahead for the product and while high rewards to lure people into the product are a good idea to gain traction, the current rate cuts make no sense considering the future of the product and seems outright crazy.

Anyway that's my 2CRO (should be == 2 cents sooner or later), end of rant and trust your common senses when investing your heard earned money into new age products promising things and it's totally okay to not be FOMO'd in and stay way when you need to. Cheers!!

submitted by /u/x0cr
[link] [comments]
