Crypto references in recent movies / tv shows

I was looking for something to put on last night as I was getting ready to go to bed. I was scrolling through a few streaming apps until I noticed a new movie on Hulu. The movies name is Gold. Zack Efron stars in it.

It’s a decent movie but kind of slow and depressing.

Back to my point…..

In the opening scenes the 2 main characters are driving and on the radio you hear:

“Bitcoin is currently trading at 1.25 million US dollars”

I almost spit out my popcorn and had to rewind to grab the screenshot. There’s no timeline in the movie unfortunately although it definitely seems to take place in the not to distant future.

I think it’s cool to see these references popping up. Just another step towards mass adoption. I know there are other crypto based movies out there. One of them being called Crypto.

Any other references out there that you care to share?

submitted by /u/Sugar_Phut
[link] [comments]
