What lessons would you give your younger self

Everyone has had a journey in crypto. Whether you heard about bitcoin/crypto from it by a friend, article, research, chances are most have been a part of the bull or bear market.

Feel free to add/challenge but everyone is entitled to their opinion

I’ll go first from 2013 bull market

Ignore the hype and don’t chase coins. Most tend to buy high and sell low.

Hold onto bitcoin and put on cold storage (avoiding exchanges like the plague). Bitcoin is KING. Bitcoin will survive and is growing.

Do your research, ignore those that haven’t spent the time to influence you

Under no circumstances tell friends and family about how much crypto you own (almost always ends bad and becomes a security issue/guilt trip)

The best time to be bullish is in the bear market, the best time to be bearish is in the bull market

Those that lost it all in the bull markets have gained it back and exponentially more by sticking through and buying in the bear market (if you’re doing this now you will make it)

Bitcoin doesn’t need anything to happen besides the 2024 halving. Typically bull markets ignite 6 months post halving

Most alt coin projects will fail or never recapture market share

When your portfolio is good enough to take a screenshot it is good enough to start selling

Have a plan and be disciplined (however as Tyson says “everyone has a plan until they are punched in the face”

The train will always come back. To those that regretted not buying now is your chance. This will separate the winners from the losers in this space

Everyone thought they were late to bitcoin/crypto since 2010. The majority are wrong, and time is on our side. Those that are patient and believe seek the most to gain

Roughly 0.3 BTC is enough to be top 1% of holders. That will put you in a class of under 1m holders. That number will increase over time and be much more expensive with time

-People in 2032 will use 2022 as a reference for how “cheap/lucky” we are.

submitted by /u/SimplyShred
[link] [comments]
