It has seen many make huge gains and many lose everything. This space is insanely volatile and unregulated, and so it inevitably comes with the territory</p> <p>We also consume a ton of material which can reinforce bias and establish echo chambers. We operate in a melting pot of hopium, tech, fast developments, volatile profit/loss swings, and psychological/sociological dynamics commonplace within the digital community space such as groupthink and surface-level comparison</p> <p>2022 was littered with disbelief, corruption and more black swans than vaguely interesting pigeons. 2023 has seen impressive consistent upside for BTC and ETH, and a divergence in sentiment relative to the wider financial world</p> <p>When markets experience significant moves higher or lower, inevitable feelings of fomo or fear rear their ugly heads. Last year was a car crash that felt like it was simultaneously fast and slow. This year we started by being grateful for a few days or weeks of green, and now we’re close to 100% up on BTC’s cycle lows</p> <p>Nobody really knows how or why markets move as they do, despite indicators, fundamentals and macro trends. Remember, the reason TA gets such a bad rep is that market trends are (for the most part) understood retrospectively</p> <p>My encouragement to you is to make peace with your investments. This way, you’ll be able to make peace with yourself in this wild market. Don’t compare yourself to others - turning £100 into £1,000 is far more impressive than turning £10,000 into £11,000. Rinse and repeat, and keep building capital. Nobody went broke taking profits</p> <p>My secret sauce for sleeping well at night is uniform position sizing. That way, I don’t over-own a loser and under-own a winner. Who knows how this next year will play out? You do you, enjoy the ride and keep your expectations in check.
