Former SafeMooner owning my hubris and stupidity

I held SafeMoon for almost two years.

I watched the AMAs; I tweeted about it; I ate up every morself of information they shared; I defended it from "fudders"; I criticised team members for leaving; I threw my support behind the CEO, Braden John Karony.

Overall, I spent about $1500 and cashed out at a loss of about $1000. I haven't damaged myself much financially, but it's still annoying. And I'm more annoyed at myself than at SafeMoon or Karony, to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I do hope to see Karony charged for fraud some day, but I only have myself to blame for buying in.

I've spent some time recently thinking about how I fell for the hype. I consider myself to be intelligent and I'm generally cynical in most areas of thinking. Yet I fell hook, line and sinker for SafeMoon. Ultimately, I think it comes down to greed. I do fine financially- I have a good job in a tax-free country- but it's never enough, is it?

I wanted more and I believed that SafeMoon would skyrocket my initial investment into tens or even hundreds of thousands in a year or two. I wanted it so much, that I simply refused to believe what is now obvious. It's been a lesson for me, and I now only hold a few L1 coins that I can see have actual utility and solid financials.

Onwards and upwards.

Thank you particularly to u/TNGsystems for calling out the bs here and on Twitter!

submitted by /u/Immigrant974
[link] [comments]
