TRANSFERWISE starting to refuse FIAT withdrawals from Binance | time to boycott TW.

It seems like more and more reasons are presenting themselves to move away from a banking establishment to a decentralised crypto one....

I recently requested a withdrawal from Binance. Only for a small amount of ~£150. Because I am currently travelling (and will be for a few years) and ya know the whole 'rona thing my main account is transfer wise.

Binance use a UK company called Clear Junction to facilitate this. Clear Junction has no ties to crypto trading or any other crypto related product they are a third party that facilitate payments from one bank to another.

The payment went into pending and I had to wait 2 days for them to reply to me. I have used them several times before and everything was ok, so I assumed it was a glitch and emailed support.

When they did they replied with:

I am getting in touch to inform you that we are unfortunately unable to proceed with your transfer ######## as the purpose for it goes against our Acceptable Use Policy 1.2.2 C. - According to which we do not support payments related to companies involved in the exchange or trading of cryptocurrencies, or any other virtual currencies.

Currently incoming payments are only acceptable from cryptocurrency platforms, which are regulated by an EU or UK financial regulation authority. For now, Binance Digital Limited and any of their subsidiaries, doesn't hold such licence, therefore we cannot accept payments from them.

Clear junction is not a subsidiary of Binance, they are an independent UK business.

Is transfer legally allowed to stop a company paying someone? This can't be the case.

Info on Clear Junction

info on Binance

Kind Regards R
