2017 was the ICO boom. 2021 is the DEFI boom. 2024 will be the PRIVACY boom
<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>Every cycle comes with new narratives and new locomotives.</p> <p>Narratives when it comes to BITCOIN and Cryptocurrencies. It started like an electronic money, quickly became THE money used to buy and selldrugs on the blackmarkets, then it became a good way to exchange, now it became a good store of value, a digital gold.</p> <p>Locomotives, when it comes craze and fame, to things people are looking and buying into. It is obvious that 2015-2017 was the cycle of the ICO’s. 2017-2021 the years of DEFI.</p> <p>Now that ICO have matured (into IPO’s, farming...), that DEFI exploded, I think the next cycle will be the one privacy will become the locomotive.</p> <p>The more crypto will be used, the more it will be controled. And privacy was always something peoples (individuals, corporations, but also institutions...) were looking for, especially with money.</p> <p>Privacy coins exists since many years (Monero, Zcash...). With the constant risk of then being blacklisted by institutions or CEXs, I think we will see a boom of alternatives and 1st layer protocols (like SCRT, secret network).</p> <p>I really do think privacy will be the new locomotive of the next bull rung.
