Question about investment and loans in a crypto-based world

So in our ideal Cryptocurrency world we would all have our own wallets containing our currency. Therefore there is no need for banks. (This might be wrong)

At the moment my money is invested by the bank in the form of giving loans to others. (Simplified I know). However, when we all have control over our money, where will people get loans?

Will it be from the richest?

Or will there be some sort of place you could invest your money, other people could loan it out, and you would get some sort of interest rate.

Could this system be decentralised or would it require a "bank"?

Sorry, I don't know a lot. My main question is about how loans will work in a fully Cryptocurrency based world. Obviously we can get round this in a perfect world where we don't need loans or whatever, but assuming nothing else changes, what will Crypto-Loans look like?

Kind Regards R
