Does anyone else max out all their retirement accounts as a safety net, in case thei

I'm in a fortunate situation where I am able to max my Trad 401k, Roth IRA, and HSA. My 401k is 80% total market, 15% growth, and 5% international. My Roth IRA and HSA are roughly the same but slightly different percentages due to various rollovers.

My emergency fund is already at 20k in a HYSA and I plan to take 6k out for Jan 1 2022 Roth IRA (14k is still about 8 months expenses). I'm in my mid 20s and after expenses I end up with ~2k/month as free money. I've been putting the money towards my taxable brokerage and crypto, but they're all individual stocks that I've picked myself. I honestly don't have many hobbies outside of lifting and playing the stock + crypto market keeps me interested in investing at this young age. I also feel more risk tolerant due to my retirement accounts being maxed out at this age. I've done pretty well this year (up 70%+ in brokerage and 110%+ in crypto), but I also know this doesn't always last. My plan is to still play around with this extra money for another 1-2 years until I decide to buy an engagement ring and then start considering saving for a down payment. Though I'm not in any rush to buy a home right now since I don't know where I will be living after 3-5 years.

Wondering if anyone else is in the similar boat as me here?

submitted by /u/lonesomeconsultant
[link] [comments]Kind Regards R
