<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p><a href="https://news.bitcoin.com/uk-police-return-5-4-million-to-cryptocurrency-fraud-victims/">https://news.bitcoin.com/uk-police-return-5-4-million-to-cryptocurrency-fraud-victims/</a></p> <p>Crypto related scams are a dime a dozen and the media also attempts to blow up every single one of em so that these scams have become a major stumbling block for our progress.</p> <p>The article above talks about how the Greater Manchester Police seized $5.4Mil of crypto from a scam that spannes the globe and are now returning it to the victims who come from places like Europe, China, Australia, HK, UK and the US.</p> <p>Theres $10Mil more that they plan to recover still and distribute among the 150 or so victims. </p> <p>I dont know how they did or how they located the victims but i assume having a permanent public ledger that keeps track of all expenses may have helped!</p> <p>Seeing something like this amidst all the Canadian anti-crypto dicktatorship and Indian taxation issues gives me hope that it may indeed be possible to clamp down on crypto scams.
