Crypto.com freezes my card AND all crypto assets for no reason... it's been 5 days n

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my current experience with the community for people to know what they are getting into when using Crypto.com.

I need to start saying that, until a week ago, I was one of the best advocate for Crypto.com. I have been using their services since 2018, with the Indigo card, and went through all the waves but overall had always been happy.

It went all South last week. I realised 5 days ago, after a payment refused at a restaurant during a field mission (I travel a lot), that my card was frozen. The app had a red banner saying "Your card is frozen because we have detected suspicious transactions. Please contact support for further information.". I contacted the support who explained me that my account was going through a "standard review" according to rules and regulations (?). I asked why... No answer. I asked how long... "Could take 10 days or more". I politely complained... complete loss of time.

Where it gets better is that today I realised that, not only my card is frozen but all my crypto assets are. I cannot withdraw anything.

With the current change of cashback rates etc., I decided to stop using Crypto.com card, unstake my CRO, sell them for another asset that will provide me 3% cashback with their card (follow my eyes...). I was able to unstake (of course) but now I can't withdraw, not even to the CdC exchange.

I know you have to take my word on this, but nothing of what I do is against any regulation. I just work in the humanitarian and development world and therefore travel a lot in poor countries. I am used to having my cards frozen because of that ("why was your card used in Haiti?"
but at least with banks, it usually takes a phone call to lift the restrictions.

Here I have a private institution, holding my funds (both fiat and crypto) hostage, and not giving me any explanation on the why...

As soon as this is cleared (and I hope it will be fast), I'm out. And I know that I will not be compensated for the loss of value (I wanted to sell my CRO yesterday... but can't).

Beware everyone.

submitted by /u/zepims
[link] [comments]
