Can Alts ROI outperform BTC in two cycles? Should you buy Alts in the bear market?

Should you buy Alts in the bear market?" /> </a> </td><td> <!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>​</p> <p>In response to <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/vv1ape/i_calculated_how_much_a_coin_would_be_worth_from/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share">This post </a> comparing alts performance to BTC I decided to study the ROI over the bear market.</p> <p>To study whether it is better to DCA into alts hoping for a new ATH or DCA into bitcoin. </p> <p>I analyzed the TOP 10 crypto by market cap at the height of Alts season in January 2018. </p> <p>I used a website called DCAcryptocalculator which pulls its prices from Coingecko. </p> <p>The study assumes a DCA of 10$ each week from January 1st, 2018. The total DCA in dollars amount to date would be 2360$. </p> <p>The 1st group of columns shows the amount of DCA and the current value. </p> <p>The second group was calculating the DCA amount and value to when BTC hit ATH on Nov 9th, 2021. </p> <p>The third part of the table calculates the DCA amount to when the token hit its ATH this cycle. ETH is second with 330% then BTC with 190%. </li> <li>When BTC hit ATH 7X ROI, only ADA and ETH had better returns <strong>ADA 23x and ETH 16x</strong>. All other coins were in the green but with a lower ROI compared to BTC.</li> </ul> <p>​</p> <ul> <li>When measured to the ATH in 2021 of each coin individually. We can see that A<strong>DA had 35x returns ETH 16x NEM 8.3X</strong> then BTC 7x as the top 4.
