Thoughts about buying a house with 401k

<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>With inflation making 401ks practically worthless by the time we can cash them out, wouldn't it make more sense to invest in a house? House value would generally go up and 401k at best are doing as well as inflation r/n. And at worst they are losing value. I dont believe in this myth of compounding interest making anyone a millionaire. They are basically a glorified savings account.
