Crypto.com Web3 gaming survey further proves there is little interest in making some

It's no surprise that any Web3 gaming project will have a focus on making money / promoting a brand. However I was honestly shocked at how blunt Crytpo.com were in ignoring core gaming fundamentals in a recent survey.

I opened the app this morning and was met with the following:

Time to get your game on

What must a Web3 game absolutely have? Something might just be in the works.

User-generated content

A rich in-game universe

A high level of accessibility

A thriving community

A range of diversified revenue streams

Those were the only options. No mention of gameplay. No mention of progression. No mention of story or lore.

As a passionate gamer it's honestly baffling how far-removed these companies seem to be from the gaming world. It's the largest entertainment industry on the planet so they should look at what works. Even the braindead yearly franchises like COD and FIFA know gameplay is king. Other huge franchises lean on story and succeed time after time.

I honestly think if they changed their focus, had a few failures but learnt along the way they could end up with something magical. But until then we're just going to be left with more mindless drivel.

submitted by /u/KnackeredParrot
[link] [comments]
