The free market says NFTs have value. Your opinions don't matter if you're not invol

The reality is there is a market for quite a few things that I can neither comprehend nor grasp how various hobbies, items, or any tradeable goods have a derived value(price)....so I don't get involved. But the fact remains, no matter what my opinion is, the value of a given item is the what someone else is willing to pay for it.

That goes for NFTs, your bag of alt coins, your bag of blue chips, or a shit stained hair brush. The value is, and always will be, the price someone is willing to take that thing off of your hands for. That's never going to change. I've heard "value and price are 2 different things". Nope. Value whatever item you own at whatever price you want but until you sell it that value is imaginary figure in your head.

It doesn't matter what you think a value is in a market in which you don't participate. Baseball owners don't care what you think about how much they pay their players. They've decided it's a value they want to pay. No amount of "I don't understand why they make so much money" will change that because you're not a participant, unless you decide to stop buying baseball tickets and merchandise. Then you wait to a value you're willing to buy it at.

You don't value something the same as someone else. Welcome to the free market. The fact that people think they know what a future value someone will pay for something is either is a claim at omniscience or the obvious counter point that they don't know shit about fuck. It's most likely the latter.

Complain all you want about literally anything. As long as people think they can sell something for more later they will pay for it now. Or if someone doesn't even want to sell it and the price is worth it for their own personal value so be it. Your beliefs on the relevance or importance of said item being sold is quite literally irrelevant unless you're in on the bidding.

submitted by /u/fulento42
[link] [comments]Kind Regards R
