What's going to happen with Tesla in the long term?

So no need to recap Tesla's year, we all know what happened with it. But does anyone think this stock will ever be what it once was? It seems like much of its value was based on Musk's image and... that is likely tarnished beyond repair.

I'm not suggesting he's going bankrupt or Tesla will disappear... but there was a time that people looked at the stock going to 7k, 10k, 15k. I think those are pipe dreams now, but what's the real, actual potential for the company in the next 5-10 years?

Am I overstating how much Musk drove that price vs. the actual company? It makes cool cars, that some feel have quality control issues. Rivals have caught up and even surpassed them in some areas, especially quality and price. The charging network is the one big advantage, but that seems surmountable in the near/medium future. Other than name/brand, what else does it have that can drive this stock back to the levels it once was?

Where do you see it in 1, 5, 10 years? Would you suggest people think about getting in and riding it to retirement or avoid at all costs?

Hopefully this question doesn't violate the guidelines, didn't seem to from what I read. I am actually curious about this and wanted feedback.

submitted by /u/TopDeckHero420
[link] [comments]
