Anyone else wish they were smart enough to truly understand crypto?

This has been something I’ve struggled with for a while. I’m very interested in cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology and the potential for this bleeding edge technology to revolutionise finance. I try and do my research and make sure that I understand the projects I invest in, their use-cases and the ins-and-outs of their development. But I came to a sad realisation:

I just don’t think I’m smart enough to truly understand cryptocurrencies.

I’m not talking about my bone-headed investment decisions either. I tried to participate in Polkadot’s parachain auctions once and it felt like I was staring at the face of god. My mind couldn’t comprehend it. I know the basics of how Bitcoin works but I when I read the whitepaper my mind starts to melt. I want to understand what each update brings to the table. I’m genuinely so interested in watching projects like ETH and DOT evolve but my feeble artist’s brain really needs a dumbed down explanation to make sense of any technical information I’m presented with.

Does anyone else feel this way? Or does anyone have any tips that’d help me learn the technicals? Right now it feels like no matter how much research I do I’ll barely scratch the surface of truly getting crypto. Maybe I’m just destined to be a simple hodler.

submitted by /u/reaglesham
[link] [comments]
