Why the toxicity?
<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>I myself am what I would call a mid termer. Not been into crypto since 2011 but also not a newbie of the last year. Came in about 3 or so years ago.</p> <p>But I am new to the crypto subs on reddit and what's absolutely struck me is the utter weird toxic nature to some of them.</p> <p>The main example I'll bring up is the current situation with xrp. Now I'll say I have some among other holdings (major, established), which is why I'm on that and also this sub.</p> <p>Xrp as we know is having a pretty rough time of it recently but there are those who genuinely believe in it and want to keep going. To my mind that's fine. It's like supporting a struggling sports team. Sure others will disagree but the bottom line is that it surely doesn't deserve the sheer amount of negative attention it's getting from people who favour other cryptos such as BTC and ETH etc.</p> <p>The sheer number of memes and other overly toxic posts revelling in a crypto currency struggling is amazing. I simply can't understand how someone would take the time and effort to make a meme laughing at other's potential misfortune on this topic.</p> <p>It's crypto guys.
