PSA: If you're storing cryptocurrencies on Binance and live in the US, check to make
<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>Binance regularly audits accounts on the original application to determine if you're trading from within the United States - if this is the case, you have two weeks from the audit date to transfer your funds or <del>risk liquidation</del> contact support after the lockout date to retrieve your assets.</p> <p>If you find yourself in this position, you can create a Binance.US account and transfer your assets there or transfer to another wallet altogether.</p> <p>Source: I generally use a VPN when trading on Binance, but logged in on my phone this morning to make a trade and got a popup that the order could not be fulfilled due to breaking their ToS. I then logged in on my laptop and got this notice:</p> <blockquote> <p>Dear user, as we constantly perform periodic sweeps of our existing controls, we noted that you are trying to access Binance from a US IP. Please note that as per our terms of use (<a href="https://www.binance.com/en/terms">https://www.binance.com/en/terms</a>), we are unable to service US persons. Please register for an account over at our partner, Binance US (<a href="https://www.binance.us/en/home">https://www.binance.us/en/home</a>). You have 14 days to close all active positions on your account and withdraw all your funds, failing which your account will be locked. Once your account is locked, you will have to raise a customer service ticket for us to assist you further. If you are not a US person/resident, please undergo KYC to verify your identity to prevent any restrictions to your account.
