Top February Raises of crowdfunding startups

Kingscrowd collects statistics on crowdfunding startups. Here's the top raises in February.

https://www.kingscrowd.com/monthly-raise/?tf=02/28/2021

Notably, Cloudastructure has raised $9.3 million in February and $24 million to date in this round. Cloudastructure previously raised money on republic.co with a SAFE at a $7 million cap and on wefunder.com at a $10 million cap. They are now raising at a pre-money valuation of $30 million. This implies a current valuation of $54 million.

Because of the terms of the SAFEs, those who invested in the SAFEs are not being diluted in this round. If you put $1000 in a SAFE with a $7 million cap, it should be worth almost $8000, exactly ($54/$7)*$1000, now. Of course, it's illiquid and you can't sell yet. I thought this was a good deal and bought in at both $7 million cap and more at the $10 million cap. It will be interesting to see what they can do with this $24 million. They really haven't raised any significant money before, it was just enough to keep the lights on, do a little development and a little selling.

I saw a few posts about Graze last year here on /r/investing . They were advertising heavily on instagram/facebook trying to raise money. They managed to raise $4 million at a valuation of $23 million. (https://www.kingscrowd.com/graze-on-seedinvest/) I wonder what their marketing costs were though. I thought this graze deal was overvalued by alot and didn't invest.

submitted by /u/ron_leflore
[link] [comments]Kind Regards R
