Things you hear during bear-markets and crashes
<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>I'm not here to speculate on whether or not the bear has arrived, only to highlight mistruths that we hear <em>every</em> cycle. I'm sure you can add more to the list.</p> <p><strong>- (1) "BTC is dead"</strong></p> <p>BTC has died on 423 separate occasions and will die 1000s of more times if you believe the media (<a href="https://99bitcoins.co.il/bitcoin-obituaries/">Source</a>).</p> <p><strong>- (2) "BTC was a fad/craze/one-time bubble. Sell and move on."</strong></p> <p><strong>"This time is different. The whole world was watching. BTC will never recover."</strong></p> <p>BTC ROI (vs. USD):</p> <table><thead> <tr> <th>Years</th> <th>Bitcoin</th> <th>Gold</th> <th>S&P 500</th> </tr> </thead><tbody> <tr> <td>1</td> <td>+244%</td> <td>-0.06%</td> <td>+33%</td> </tr> <tr> <td>2</td> <td>+210%</td> <td>+26%</td> <td>+45%</td> </tr> <tr> <td>3</td> <td>+330%</td> <td>+48%</td> <td>+53%</td> </tr> <tr> <td>4</td> <td>+1,292%</td> <td>+46%</td> <td>+75%</td> </tr> <tr> <td>5</td> <td>+4,554%</td> <td>+36%</td> <td>+99%</td> </tr> <tr> <td>6</td> <td>+11,268%</td> <td>+62%</td> <td>+103%</td> </tr> <tr> <td>7</td> <td>+4,913%</td> <td>+38%</td> <td>+119%</td> </tr> <tr> <td>8</td> <td>+36,634%</td> <td>+41%</td> <td>+155%</td> </tr> <tr> <td>9</td> <td>+351,302%</td> <td>+14%</td> <td>+214%</td> </tr> <tr> <td>10</td> <td>+230,452%</td> <td>+14%</td> <td>+223%</td> </tr> </tbody></table> <p>The table speaks for itself (<a href="https://casebitcoin.com/charts">Source</a>). BTC has crashed 80%+ <strong>four</strong> times before and recovered to new ATHs each and every single time. The whole world was also watching in 2013 and 2017. </p> <p><strong>- (3) "BTC/crypto believers have lost faith."</strong></p> <p>Absolutely not. The tourists lost faith. The rest of us are holding. We establish the new floor and we gain new faithful every cycle.</p> <p><strong>- (4) "BTC/crypto crashed because of X." [China, Elon, Government Regulations, Whales, Manipulation]</strong></p> <p>Everybody searches for a reason but really, crypto markets tend to over-extend at ATHs - meaning virtually <em>anything</em> can trigger a move.</p> <p><strong>- (5) "I told you! Crypto is a scam! I knew BTC would crash."</strong></p> <p>This is Grade-A copium, mined from people who missed out on the gains and/or who do not understand the slightest thing about crypto.</p> <p><strong>- (6) "Governmental regulations will destroy BTC."</strong></p> <p>Incorporating BTC/crypto into regulatory frameworks is inevitable and necessary for mass-adoption. IMO, it does not change the long-term outlook. </p> <p><strong>- (7) "BTC has no intrinsic value. It's 100% speculative."</strong></p> <p>All that BTC has proven to be is volatile. It's entirely expected. It's spearheading an entirely new asset class and a revolutionary step forward in fintech. It was never going to be a straight line to the top. </p> <p><strong>TLDR</strong>: Relax, hold and enjoy your future gains.</p> </div><!-- SC_ON --> submitted by <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Zarkorix"> /u/Zarkorix </a> <br/> <span><a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/om4h8q/things_you_hear_during_bearmarkets_and_crashes/">[link]</a></span> <span><a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/om4h8q/things_you_hear_during_bearmarkets_and_crashes/">[comments]</a></span>Kind Regards R
