Investing in CDs in banks in developing countries.

I live in a developing country and the interest rates are super high for CDs, 7-8% is common and there is a bank that offers 18% annually. Inflation was around 7 last year.

How would you feel about this? I know that most people here are Americans or Europeans.. I'm not sure if it worth it to invest in stocks when all my calculations show that CDs may overgrow them in the long term.

For eg: The bank that offers 18% annually, non compound interest, if you don't touch your money for 10 years. So if I invest 10k, in 10 years I'd receive 28k. If I re-invest the 28k and keep doing so for a total of 40 years, that's 614k.

submitted by /u/AppleLightSauce
[link] [comments]Kind Regards R
