Best way to invest 6K/month?

Mid 30s couple, after taking care of rent and other expenses, we plan to put away 6K/month in our brokerage account. I like reading up on financials but with a toddler and a full-time job I want to stay passive as much as possible. I plan to keep 85% in index funds (VTI/VOO/etc), 10% in individual stocks (AAPL, MSFT, etc) and rest in cash for buying opportunities.

Does this strategy sound reasonable? I was thinking of adding a 529 bucket and can't think of anything else.

With a little more effort on doing my research, can I do better than this?

I can’t find a way to automate the biweekly investments in index funds (for fidelity), can someone point me to a good resource?

Edit1: we max out our 401k + Roth IRA and that adds up to approx. 70K/year (including employer contributions) invested in target date funds.

Edit2: we also have a savings account with 80K cash (emergency + house downpayment)

Edit3: apparently a lot of people on this sub have never heard of backdoor Roth

submitted by /u/inscrutabledesiguy
[link] [comments]Kind Regards R
