Top cryptos by technology development over the past month

I've been working in the field of alternative data for a long time, and lately I have started researching the cryptocurrency market from a data point of view. Unlike on-chain analytics (like Dune), I'm looking at assets based on their off-chain, alternative, and non-financial metrics. This approach provides an informational advantage and allows to evaluate the market from new perspectives.</p> <p>Together with the team, we've analyzed 7,700 crypto projects from Coinmarketcap, got GitHub links for them, and processed and aggregated development activity data from internal .git files. <strong>Most crypto projects are open-sourced, which means that the more active the development is and the more people work on the project - the more mature it becomes from the technological perspective.</strong></p> <p>For your convenience, I have visualized this data in Metabase to share a bunch of interesting insights I found.</p> <p><strong>Here are the top cryptos by the number of active unique GitHub contributors over the past month:</strong></p> <p><a href="https://preview.redd.it/oesskg37m2x81.png?width=1350&format=png&auto=webp&s=a6d046c1987e52090f469f34996103f36cef97a5">Top tickers by number of active contributors over the last month</a></p> <p>​</p> <p><a href="https://preview.redd.it/kz46el09m2x81.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=26ce675ce0a42efde67a6e7b1258575792bcea49">Top 5 tickers by number of active contributors over the last month, stats for 1 year</a></p> <p>Looks interesting, isn't it? Solana (SOL) and Polkadot (DOT) have been in the public eye for quite a long time - so it's hardly surprising that they are developing actively and have enough engineers to support the projects.</p> <p>But what about TokenPocket, Elrond, and Interner Computer? Let's dive into them.</p> <p>​</p> <p><strong>1.</strong> <a href="https://www.tokenpocket.pro/"><strong>TokenPocket</strong></a> <strong>(TPT)</strong> - is a trusted multi-chain wallet that supports multi coins. You can store, send and receive your Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), EOS, TRON (TRX), IOST, Cosmos and Binance (BNB) easily.</p> <p>Looking at TPT's development activity chart - in June 2021, they had a dramatic increase in the number of GitHub contributors. It can be due to the fact that starting from the summer of 2021, TokenPocker has started actively integrating with other well-known platforms and payment services. The project describes itself as a technology ecosystem for the new internet, including fintech, decentralized finance and the Internet of Things.</p> <p><a href="https://preview.redd.it/kkgfqytdm2x81.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=f593497974e792e68073831696b36ffaa7c7aedd">Number of active contributors for Elrond</a></p> <p><strong>EGLD</strong> shows a constant growth in the number of active contributors - more than <strong>200 engineers</strong> have been engaged in developing this project in March. It results in <strong>perspective integrations</strong> with other platforms and a massive number of accounts (1.61M).
