Why does land in decentraland still cost thousands?

As of writing the cheapest plot of land costs 3525 mana, 2355 USD, or .12 BTC. Who out of its 38 users would buy this? I can’t grasp the shortsightedness it’s holders have that allow the world to exist in this paradox. Decentraland can not succeeded if there is no reason for anyone to enter the world. Then for those few who may be interested to build on the platform, it costs a literal mortgage. The land holders are hoping the demand for land will rise again while simultaneously not giving anyone a reason to want land. Baffling.

submitted by /u/sque7
[link] [comments]
