Crypto friendly banks? My credit union apparently isn't

I spoke with an employee at my local credit union about opening up another checking account specifically for ACH withdrawals like PayPal and Coinbase, etc. The employee then told me that "Bitcoin" (meaning cryptocurrency) was one of the things they screen for when opening new accounts. Is this common?

It seems I may have to open an account for purchasing cryptocurrency elsewhere. Are there any banks/credit unions/online banks that are amenable to these sorts of transactions?

Kind Regards R
