What do Redditors Think the Next Big Thing in Crypto Will Be? An Analysis of 600+ co

An Analysis of 600+ comments" /> </a> </td><td> <!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>So a few weeks back I asked the <a href="/r/CryptoCurrency">r/CryptoCurrency</a> community what they thought the <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/11tcb4i/whats_the_next_big_thing_in_crypto/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3">next big thing in crypto</a> will be!</p> <p>Inspired by <a href="/u/Chysce">u/Chysce</a> & their post on <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/11zas9a/what_made_redditors_sell_at_the_top_in_2021_a/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3">What made redditors sell at the top in 2021</a>, I decided to analyse the comments and try break it down into visual data!</p> <ol> <li>Out of 648 comments, there were 298 'thoughts' that were identifiable - i.e. something that was clearly stated by the commenter which they thought would be the next big thing. If someone mentioned multiple ideas - Bitcoin, Ether, Zk - each of these were counted and their moons were counted towards each response.</li> <li>Bitcoin & Ordinals were separated, as were Ether, ENS, and Soulbound tokens.</li> <li>Layer 2 was captured as a commenter actually saying "Layer 2" / "L2", same for Layer 1.</li> <li>"Other" is a blockchain/token/cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin & Ethereum mentioned (meme coins included).</li> <li>I kept Zk as its own thing, I thought given the amount of people & moon weighting behind it, it deserved to be counted on its own.</li> <li>Bank/Business Adoption is someone identifying "adoption" as a business use case or in the financial services world (pension plans etc.).</li> <li>Regulation/Government includes mentions of CBDCs.</li> <li>An approximate 1,507,223 moons are behind these reponses.</li> </ol> <p>​</p> <p><a href="https://preview.redd.it/tns65b5fkrra1.png?width=3513&format=png&auto=webp&s=0bd096e29e52649c2679e5bc33e7545045bcb061">https://preview.redd.it/tns65b5fkrra1.png?width=3513&format=png&auto=webp&s=0bd096e29e52649c2679e5bc33e7545045bcb061</a></p> <p><strong>I decided to also provide what the sub thinks the next big thing would based on moon weighting.
