By holding 1 BTC you will be in a 0.26% minority but as one person can own thousands

Having 1 BTC is a goal we kept hearing for the whole bear market and we even had some people celebrating their success. Now some may say why is this so special, let‘s have a look at the statistical achievements if you own 1 BTC.</p> <p>Firstly, the total Bitcoin supply is 21 million, of course some of it is lost forever but those estimates range from 1 million coins lost to 6 millions coins lost, so we will not put that into our calculations. But remember that through this our numbers will be a lot more generous than in reality:</p> <h1>The Numbers for 1 BTC:</h1> <p>Let‘s imagine one person can only hold 1 BTC at most that would mean by holding 1 BTC yourself, you are in a 0.26% minority.</p> <p>Calculations: 21.000.000 / 8 billion (human population) = 0.0026 * 100 = 0.26%</p> <p>But obviously one person does not own only 1 BTC but many whales have thousands of them. To calculate now is nearly impossible so we will use estimates and guesses. We know that we are just about to have 1 million addresses with 1 BTC after over 10 years, now we will double that number for the future.</p> <p>Calculation: 2.000.000 / 8 billion = 0.025%</p> <p>Meaning you will be one in every 2 million person if you own 1 BTC.</p> <p>Now the current numbers: With 1 million addresses (not people) holding 1 BTC you are in at least a 0.01%. minority if you hold 1 BTC but likely it is way more.</p> <p>​</p> <p>​</p> <p>Hope you guys enjoyed looking through those numbers and realising that owning just 1 BTC would put you in a exceptional minority of the whole humanity.
