What is Bitcoins long-term solution to the power consumption problem?

Q: Does Bitcoin have any solution on the horizon to the power consumption problem?

I know there’s lightning as an option but wasn’t sure if that’s considered a good solution to the power problem.

Has there been any discussion of moving Bitcoin to POS?

Or could we theoretically have people keep the original bitcoin in a wallet somewhere and trade a derivative of the wallet on a POS network like Cardano rather than trade the asset itself?

Or have a I just re-invented what all this defi stuff is all about?

Kind Regards R
